Dutch model Lara Stone, known for her gap-toothed grin and shapely curves, creates some real heat for Calvin Klein, in a surreal ad that includes flashes of her topless in a jacket and pencil suit.
Stone who married UK comic David Walliams in an extravagant ceremony at London’s Claridges Hotel earlier this year replaced Eva Mendes for its Fall campaigns for Calvin Klein Collection, ck Calvin Klein, and Calvin Klein Jeans.
Calvin Klein has been known for controversial ads for years, going back to the days when Brooke Shields proclaimed “You want to know what comes between me and my Calvins? Nothing.”
Of course, Shields was only 14 when she made the ad in 1980, and its been credited for cementing Calvin Klein as a major brand.
Calvin Klein has also helped make the careers of supermodels Kate Moss, Christy Turlington, and Natalia Vodianova, continues the all-too-important effort to cast women instead of girls. But this ad makes Shield’s controversial pitch look tame by comparison.
