Luma, who turns 19 in December, was discovered in her hometown of Joinville, in southern Brazil when she was just 14.
But at five-feet, nine-inches tall, she stood out in a crowd. After a friend convinced her to enter a modeling contest, she skyrocketed up the ranks in Sao Paulo, Brazil’s fashion capital.
Luma Grothe Stunning, Sexual for Purple
She’s rapidly gaining a reputation for her fierce high-glamour looks and ability to dress down. She’s been compared to a young Angelina, Australian model Miranda Kerr and Carola Reme, with a touch of the exotic, a la Zoe Kravitz thrown in.
Most of her work right now is focused on London and Milan, but it’s only a matter of time before she conquers New York and Paris. She’s been featured in Vogue India and Vogue Brazil and has done a television campaign for Agent Provocateur.
She also posed for Neil Francis Dawson in the Nov 2012 issue of S magazine in Givenchy, Nike, Kenzo and Mary Katrantzou.
She was featured in the September 2011 issue of Vogue UK as one of fashion’s up-and-coming models. She described her look as ever changing, from preppy… to a rock chick.”
“I love a Brazilian designer called Alexandre Herchcovitch who shows during Sao Paolo Fashion Week,” she says. Luma also loves “the adrenaline rush before you go out on the catwalk.”
She poses in Purple magazine for photographer Viktor Vauthier in nothing but bikini bottoms. Check out her photos and follow EssCurve on Twitter to keep up with the most beautiful women in the world.
